Tuesday, March 5, 2024 was the day of Makama’s passing following a brief illness.
On December 29, 2023, Justice Makama was appointed to the bench.
Upon hearing of his passing, the Keffi chapter of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) extended their condolences.
The NBA President, Nuhu J. Egya, released a statement in which the organization lamented the loss of Justice Makama.
The group prayed for the family to have the strength to deal with the tragedy and offered their sympathies to those left behind.
They also conveyed their sympathies to Justice Aisha Bashir-Aliyu, Chief Judge of Nasarawa State, and the rest of the judiciary, stating that Justice Makama’s death was unexpected.
