The chairman of LMo Traders is to be arrested and detained by Uzodimma on charges of corruption

Mr. Emmanuel Ezeanochie, Chairman of the Imo State Amalgamated Traders Association (ISAMATA), has been ordered by Senator Hope Uzodimma, the governor of Imo State, to be arrested and detained immediately.

Mr. Emmanuel Ezeanochie, the state chairman of the Imo State Amalgamated Traders Association (ISAMATA), has been arrested and detained by His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma, the governor of Imo State, in accordance with his resolve to rid the state of corruption in all sectors, according to a special announcement made by the state government on Monday night.

Allegations that Mr. Ezeanochie deceitfully appropriated property and market stalls for his own use while posing as a government official led to the decision.

“Similarly, His Excellency has given the go-ahead for the ISAMTA state executive committee to dissolve immediately.”

“His Excellency further directs the relevant security agencies to expedite investigations into the allegations against the former chairman of ISAMATA, Mr Ezeanochie and prosecute him if indicted,” reads the special announcement signed by Hon Declan Emelumba, the Commissioner for Information, Public Orientations, and Strategy.
