Despite the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike, UniAbuja administration has said that all academic and administrative operations on campus would continue as usual.

This was announced during a meeting with the Provost, Deans, Directors, and Heads of academic departments by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdul-Rasheed Na’Allah.

This was said on Friday in Abuja by Dr. Habib Yakoob, who is acting as the director of information and university relations.

Management will never again let the institution be crippled, the Vice Chancellor said, describing the strike as divisive and pointless.

This university is not on strike in the eyes of its administration.

There have been reports of a strike, but the administration and I have both agreed that business as usual at the institution must continue.

“Thank God our calendar is no longer interrupted; our exams are underway, our senate meetings will go on, and all of our university activities will go on as scheduled.

He emphasized that the institution should not be crippled by insignificant matters that have already been discussed and handled. He promised that they would not allow this interruption to happen again.

The union’s alleged charges, which they said inspired their declaration of indefinite strike, were all rejected by him.
