This announcement was made by Governor Adeleke on Tuesday at the formal flag off of the flyover construction at Lagere Junction, Ile-Ife.
With Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ooni of Ife, in attendance, Adeleke said that the project will cost N14.9 billion to implement.
“We are here for two in one event,” he said, addressing the people of Ile Ife and Osun in general. At Lagere Junction, we are cutting the ribbon on a new flyover bridge and 55 kilometers of roads that will connect 30 municipalities and the regional headquarters.
Messrs. Sammya Nigeria Limited has been awarded the flyover bridge project at a total cost of fourteen billion nine hundred thirty-eight million seven hundred and seventy-one Naira (N14,938,924,771.45), following compliance with procurement regulations and due procedure. The time it takes to finish is twelve months.
I also want to mention that 55.86 kilometers of roads owned by the local government are now under construction, with an estimated cost of N30,677,814,099.42. There will be a twelve-month grace period for this as well.
At a cost of N30.6 billion, Adeleke said that restoration work has begun on 55.86km of local government roads across Ife area.
He praised his administration’s work on repairing roads across Ife land’s four LGAs and promised to spare no effort in improving the state of infrastructure amenities in honor of Ile-Ife’s unique position as the Yoruba race’s cradle.
He emphasized the importance of tight collaboration between the host towns’ citizens and the contractors managing the projects in order to ensure the initiatives’ effective execution.w
Adeleke was praised by Oba Ogunwusi for his endeavor to improve the town’s infrastructure facilities.
He was strongly encouraged by the Ife king to think about fixing up other roads in the Ife city that were in terrible shape as well.

Please assist us in finishing this project; I beg you, governor, do not trick us with the flag off. He implored them to finish the overhead bridge that had been unveiled earlier, saying, “Don’t just come here to cut the ribbon.”
