A coordinated campaign against electoral malpractices and violence in the impending local government elections scheduled for February, 2025, has been sought by the National Orientation Agency, NOA, Osun State chapter with the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission, OSSIEC.

During an advocacy visit with her management team to the office of Hashim Abioye in Osogbo, Bola Morgan, the State Director of NOA, made this statement.

Morgan made it clear that she wanted to improve relations between her organization and the Commission during her visit.

“The National Orientation Agency has as one of its mandates the creation of awareness,” she stated.

“It is our sincere desire that the government reinstate existing youth organizations such as the Boy Scouts, the Boy Brigade, and others in all elementary and secondary schools as a means of citizen orientation.”

Hashim Abioye, chairman of the OSSIEC, thanked the National Orientation Agency for their visit and offered his congratulations to the agency’s new director on her new position.

Abioye utilized the moment to highlight the accomplishments of the commission within a few months of his appointment, while also pushing the agency to maintain its role as a catalyst for good change through grassroots campaigns against social vices and the promotion of national values.

He reassured the staff at NOA that he maintained in contact with the commission.
