Posted by Following the passing of Ibrahim Lamorde, a former Deputy Inspector General of Police and Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Independent Commission for the Prevention of Corruption (ICPC) has issued a statement.
According to ICPC, the late DIG Lamorde was an example of unwavering commitment and a source of motivation for many anti-corruption activists.
In it, the country was reminded of the great impact the former DIG had during his lifetime by his steadfast commitment to accountability and the preservation of justice.
“His unwavering dedication to upholding transparency and the rule of law has been, and will be, an inspiration to many in the anti-corruption field,” the Commission stated in a statement issued by Chairman Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN.
Hope for a better, more honest society remains, because to the work of people like the late DIG Lamorde.
The Commission extends its deepest sympathies to the grieving family and the EFCC during this trying time.
Our deepest sympathies go out to Lamorde’s loved ones at this time. May they take comfort in the knowledge that he touched many lives throughout his time serving as a police officer and EFCC operative across the country.
As they go through this, may they also know how much loved and supported they are.
“Finally, we at the ICPC ask that Allah grants strength to the EFCC and the family of the deceased as they endure this irreparable loss,” it continued.
