According to X user @itzbasito, “Wizkid’s only crime is surpassing the benchmark set for him and becoming the benchmark himself.” In response, @Xperience_Snr shared the comment, stating that people want Wizkid to follow in the footsteps of Iyanya and Samklef.
“The same reason Drake gets a lot of hate,” the X user remarked. Everyone in the entertainment business thought the small white boy wouldn’t make it.
“Wizkid was meant to follow in the footsteps of Samklef and Iyanya.”
The suggestion that his once-buzzing career failed to meet expectations really irritated Iyanya in his argument.
“You will end up like your father,” Iyanya fumed, quoting the message.
The singer also expressed her dismay with the online community, writing, “This space is toxic, y’all just wake up and undermine a creative’s years of work.”
