NPFL title is not our objective – Ilechukwu, coach of the Rangers

Rangers’ technical adviser Fidelis Ilechukwu claims his squad has no championship aspirations for the current campaign in the Nigerian Premier Football League.

After 32 games, the Flying Antelopes have accumulated 55 points, good for first place in the NPFL.

Among the other teams vying for the championship are Remo Stars and the reigning champions, Enyimba.

In Ilechukwu’s opinion, those two teams are better than Rangers when it comes to the championship competition.

After losing against Kano Pillars in Round 64 of the 2024 President Federation Cup, Rangers were eliminated from the competition.

I may have to repeat myself as I have mentioned this on other places. He made it clear that winning the league is not their goal for the current campaign.

Some teams, like Remo Stars and Enyimba, are ahead of the game.

To you, it is football. From time to time, it occurs. That hurts. Our first ever elimination from a competition occurred in the first round.

Although we are unhappy, we feel helpless to change the situation. I hope everything works out well for Kano Pillars.

“After a disappointing showing in the Federation Cup, we must now turn our attention to the league and make an appeal to our fans.”
