In the WAFU B U-17 Championship semi-final match, Cote d’Ivoire defeated the defending champions, the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria, by a score of 1-0.
It wasn’t until the 54th minute when Youbah Coulibaly put the Baby Elephants ahead.
The Eaglets were unable to score a goal to tie the game thereafter.
As if that weren’t bad enough, Manu Garba’s squad didn’t even make the cut for the FIFA U-17 World Cup.
On Tuesday, they’ll play the hosts, Ghana, for third place.
On the same day, the championship match will take place between Burkina Faso and Cote d’Ivoire.
