Three teams from the Nigerian National League—Ekiti United, Stormers FC, and 1472 FC—have been demoted.
After Saturday’s scoreless match with Abia Comets, Ekiti United were officially relegated. Their 24 points from 22 games were enough to put them in eleventh place.
Despite beating Rovers FC in a walkover, Stormers FC were likewise unlucky.
With 24 points, the Abeokuta club came in tenth position.
After 22 games, the newly established 1472 FC finished their first NNL season with 18 points, good for last place in the league.
Next year, all three teams will be part of the Nationwide League One.
