Argentina’s head coach, Lionel Scaloni, has stated that Lionel Messi will be ready to play against Canada in their Copa America semifinal.

Speaking to media, Scaloni stated that Messi’s availability is “without a doubt.”

He says he will never go past the 37-year-old, even if he isn’t nearly fit.

Due to a thigh ailment, Messi was doubtful for the quarterfinal matchup with Ecuador.

Even though he missed a penalty in the game-deciding shootout, he was still allowed to play for ninety minutes.

“99% of the time, [Messi] is fit to play,” Scaloni stated. I’ve never experienced him being unfit to play. He’s fit to play every time he steps onto the field.

“He’s definitely fit to play for [Canada].” For me, it’s a simple choice because it’s straightforward: if he’s okay, he plays; if not, he plays for the final thirty minutes. It really is that simple.

“He always plays when he’s in shape. There are no questions.
