Liverpool star criticized by Man City’s Akanji for remarks on treble-winning season

In response to Trent Alexander-Arnold’s remarks regarding Manchester City’s treble-winning season, Manuel Akanji, a defender for Manchester City, has spoken out.

Man City achieved history last year when they won the FA Cup, the Premier League, and the UEFA Champions League.

But according to Alexander-Arnold, the recent titles won by Liverpool were more important to the fans than the victories won by City.

As for Akanji, who was on that treble-winning squad, he brushed off the remarks.

That “Alexander-Arnold’s words? “was his statement, as reported by Yahoo Sports (via @FabrizioRomano). He stated that for reasons I can’t fathom. To top it all off, he avoided the field entirely. Since he was not the winner, he is unable to discern.

“When you achieve three or five titles in a single year, as we did, then he has the right to speak.”
