In recognition of her immense contributions and achievements to the development of the society, the Dean of Commissioners and the Honourable Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Glory Edet, today Sunday 18th July 2021 at the Immanuel Methodist Cathedral, Itiam Etoi, Uyo, was decorated as a Patron of the Boys’ Brigade Nigeria, Akwa Ibom State Council during an event of Investiture of new state patrons and re-dedication of old state patrons organised by the foremost voluntary youth organisation.

Responding, the Hon. Commissioner for Agriculture and Dean of Commissioners and Special Advisers, Dr. The Glory Edet appreciated God for the privilege to be a recipient of the award. While appreciating her boss, the Governor for the opportunity given her to serve in his administration, she thanked the church Council for nurturing what she described as a “disciplined” organisation. “I want to thank the Methodist Church, the Presbyterian Church, Anglican Church, Qua Iboe Church and other churches that are in charge of the Boys’ Brigade. An organisation like this is not new to me, I know if there’s any disciplined place, it is the Boy’s Brigade and “other” similar organisations. By the special grace of God, I have been a Patron of the Girl’s Brigade, Akwa Ibom State Council and other organisations, I know that these organisations have sacrificed a lot to the growth and well-being of our society”.
