International Terminal Building at Victor Attah International Airport to be completed, Commission Next Year – Board Chairman
The board chairman of Ibom Airport Development Company Limited (IADC) Dr. Iniobong Essien has assured the people of Akwa Ibom State that the ongoing construction of international terminal building at the Victor Attah international airport will be completed and commission next year.
Dr. Essien made this known Thursday, when he led the commissioner for Special Duties, Rt. Hon. Okpulukpum Ette on an inspection tour of the terminal building project under construction.
The IADC board chairman accompanied by other board members on the inspection tour expressed appreciation to Governor Udom Emmanuel for the vision in aviation development and assured that ibom airport will open the state for more investment and economic boom.
Dr. Essien disclosed that the terminal building will be a smart building that will traffic about one million passengers annually with full covid 19 protocols intact.
The international terminal building project which is currently nearing seventy percent completion is handled by VKS construction company and is designed to have basic standard facilities expected of an international airport including: five Avio (jets) bridges, fourteen lifts and five baggage carousels.
